Η σειρά γυρίστηκε στην Αφρική και αποτελεί μια συμπαραγωγή των δικτύων Netflix και BBC. Η πρώτη σεζόν θα αποτελείται από οκτώ επεισόδια και θα προβληθεί στο BBC One, και στο επίκεντρο βρίσκεται η επική μάχη ανάμεσα σε θνητούς και θεούς και τα γεγονότα που οδήγησαν στην πολιορκία της Τροίας.

Πρόσφατα το BBC δημοσίευσε τις πρώτες επίσημες φωτογραφίες από τη σειρά, προκαλώντας αρνητικά σχόλια για το γεγονός ότι οι ηθοποιοί που υποδύονται τον θεό Δια της ελληνικής μυθολογίας καθώς και τον αρχαίο Έλληνα Αχιλλέα και τον φίλο του Πάτροκλο, είναι… μαύροι!
